For over 24 years, Firewater has been shaping the digital landscape in South Africa and beyond. Founded by Mark Stecker and Alon Berman in 1998, the agency began as a web design and development studio. Today, it stands as a full-service digital marketing agency, delivering end-to-end solutions—from strategy to execution—for clients across a broad range of industries.

Mark, who has a creative background, and his partner an engineer, built Firewater on the synergy between design and technology. “When we approach digital strategy, we see it as an entire ecosystem,” Mark explains. That ecosystem includes websites, social media, paid media, email marketing, RSVP systems, and more—an integrated approach tailored to each client's specific needs.

With experience spanning industries—from hygiene products and confectionery to steel manufacturing and e-commerce—Firewater thrives on the ability to transfer insights across sectors. “Working with such a diverse client base helps us apply learnings from one space to another,” says Mark. “Some clients require full-service digital support, while others bring us in on a project basis.”

The team includes 20 in-house experts and a network of freelance specialists, with 5–6 people focused on social media. Sociality.io plays a key role in their daily workflow for large brand accounts.
